We are seeking a dynamic0.5 WTE Band 7 Specialist Paediatric Dietitianto join our newly proposedPaediatric Nutrition Support Team. This fixed-term post is part of a pilot programme.You will work alongside a dedicated pharmacist, with support from paediatric gastroenterologist, and specialist nurse to deliver safe, effective, and standardised PN care across the organisation

Main duties of the job
- Lead the dietetic component of the Paediatric Nutrition Support Team, working alongside a pharmacist, paediatric gastroenterologist, and specialist nurse and other dietetic teams.
- Provide expert nutritional assessment and management for children requiring PN across the organisation.(excluding NICU/PICU)
- Support the transition to standardised PN formulations, contributing to improved safety, reduced prescribing errors, and cost savings.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based dietetic care, including detailed nutritional analysis, tailored feeding plans, and monitoring of growth and nutritional outcomes.
- Liaise with dietetic teams to ensure continuity of care and effective discharge planning.
- Contribute to the development of PN pathways and protocols across the Trust.
- Ensure compliance with Trust policies, clinical governance, and national standards.
- Provide clinical supervision to junior staff and students, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
About us
The post holders will join a wider paediatric dietetic team of 40 WTE dietitians and dietetic assistants who cover a wide range of specialties including inherited metabolic disease, diabetes, renal, gastroenterology, complex feeding clinic, allergy and respiratory.The service is overseen by the Evelina London Lead Dietitian and the Paediatric team form part of the wider Guy's and St Thomas' dietetic department of over 100 dietitians, with a focus on innovation, quality, education, development and well-being.
