Paediatric Clinical Research Nurse

Job summary

An exciting fixed term opportunity following an internal promotion has arisen for a dynamic Band 6 Children's Clinical Research Nurse to join our inspirational Wolf CRF team to lead on the delivery of high quality research and clinical care for participants within a range of therapeutic areas such as neurology, renal and infectious diseases across a portfolio of non-commercial and commercially funded studies. This role will be dedicated to studies being undertaken on the Wolf CRF only and involve leading and caring for children and young people enrolled in early and later phase research trials.

The postholder will lead on liaison with Principal Investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary team (including sponsors) to enable the development and creation of robust systems and processes to ensure the highest standards of clinical care and research governance.

Sound clinical skills and experience in managing complex needs patients and recognising the deteriorating child will be required for this role. Previous research experience would be advantageous however comprehensive research training will be given as part of the induction programme for the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

As a Children's Research Nurse you will be working with the wider multidisciplinary team across commercial and non commercial studies to deliver a seamless pathway for patients participating in research trials/studies undertaken on Wolf CRF only.

You will be responsible for the holistic nursing care of children / young people and their families on existing and new clinical trials and contribute to the assessment and management of their care pathways.

This will involve leading on study set up activities, screening, recruiting, educating and monitoring children and young people in studies as well the collation and documentation of study data. You will be trained to take informed consent for selected studies which do not involve a medicinal product.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme and actively encourage opportunities to develop new clinical and leadership skills . The normal working hours for the post is Monday - Friday 9am- 5pm although flexibility may be required accommodate patient visits and assessments outside of these hours.
