An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our in-house Orthotics team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Guy's and St Thomas' is one of the largest hospital Trusts in the country, with a staff of over 25,000 and 2.6 million patient contacts a year. The Trust comprises two of London's oldest and best-known teaching hospitals. The Orthotic Department is based at Bowley Close Rehabilitation Centre, a purpose- designed building with specialist staffing, equipment and facilities necessary for the assessment and treatment of people with disabilities.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality clinical orthotic service, incorporating detailed assessment, measurement, fitting and review of patients based on current good practice and evidence based orthotic treatment.

To be clinically responsible for the management of own clinical caseload whilst working as part of the wider teams

Adhere to departmental policies, protocols, guidelines and standards for orthotic provision.

Develop and promote the Orthotic Service in liaison with the senior clinical staff. Liaise with consultants, clinicians, therapists, orthotic colleagues and managers as required to provide an efficient and effective Orthotic Service

Many of our clinics are held in a multidisciplinary setting and our specialities include neuro-rehabilitation, paediatrics, foot and ankle, diabetic and specialist polio KAFO clinics.
