Job summary

The Integrated Local Services (ILS) directorate is seeking applicants for a Deputy General Manager to join the team of 1,000 staff working in adult community care and hospital based services across South East London.

The successful applicant willbe an individual with an excellent track-record in NHS operational management, who can apply their proactive and supportive approach to a range of opportunities and challenges.

Reporting in to the ILS General Manager, this role is 1 of 3 Deputy General Managers who manage 17 teams across the directorate and will be a core member of the multidisciplinary ILS Directorate Management Team.

This role will be the senior operational manager for the following services (this may be subject to change): @home, Intermediate Care Lambeth, Intermediate Care Southwark and Tissue Viability Nurses.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team that is working to engage in the NHS agenda to expand healthcare outside of hospital settings. In order to support this ambitious agenda we are seeking someone who has experience of balancing day-to-day operational with the pressures with strategic demands and has supported teams through change.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, experience with improvement work, a commitment to patient care and performance delivery along with robust financial and workforce management knowledge. You will be highly collaborative, systematic and rigorous in your approach, with a high level of emotional intelligence. A strong track-record of successful operational delivery is essential, as is a passionate desire to make a difference to patients and their families.

ILS is a large directorate, within Integrated and Specialist Medicine (ISM) clinical group, that currently includes: Health Inclusion Team, Tobacco Dependence Treatment (TDT), Adults with learning disabilities (AWLD), Community Stroke and Neurorehabilitation Services, Community Rehab & Falls Service (CRAFs), Pulross Ward, ILS Pharmacy, Site Admin, TB Nurses, Continence Advisory Service, Neighbourhood Nursing, Palliative and End of Life inc Pal@Home, Heart Failure Nurses, Intermediate Care Lambeth (ICL), Intermediate Care Southwark (ICS), @home, Tissue Viability Nurses (TVN).
