If so, this is a fantastic opportunity. We are looking for an experienced associate practitioner to join our Cardiac department. This would suit a team player who'd like to expand their existing knowledge and clinical experience to jointly lead our cardiographer/ assistant practitioner team in Cardiology.

Main duties of the job

This role will involve leading the team of cardiographers to ensure patients coming to GSTT for ECG and Holter monitoring receive a timely service.

You will troubleshoot issues with the supervision of the clinical lead.You will work closely with senior staff to develop the service so it meets the current needs of patients and colleagues.We work closely with the clinic staff to reduce delays and help provide a seamless service for all.You will perform standard and high position 12 lead ECG. Fit to a range of patients, Spacelabs Holter and BP monitors.You will maintain a clean and well stocked environment. You will carry out stock checks and update senior staff on stock needing to be ordered. You will lead by example and embody our Trust values in your daily work.

As part of the clinical Group - Heart Lung and Critical Care we work with colleagues at the Brompton and Harefield sites to provide a cardiology services that spans the entire spectrum of cardiac disease from foetal and congenital, through structural and imaging to heart failure and transplant. We are one of the foremost education providers for cardiac science with programmes from level 2 (Apprentice) to doctoral (HSST)

Essential

  • SCST diploma of ECG.
  • Basic Life support (BLS).

Desirable

  • Intermediate life support (ILS).
  • SCST Certificate in ECG.

Experience

Essential

  • Level 4 apprenticeship or at least 24 months experience in NHS as a cardiographer/assistant practitioner.
  • Able to work as solo practitioner in ECG.
  • Able to undertake range of non-invasive cardiac investigations.
  • Experience in leading others.

Desirable

  • Expert / competent user of Sentinel.
  • Use of Epic.

Skills

Essential

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Organisation of own work and able to manage others.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a multi-professional environment.

Desirable

  • Ability to undertake advanced Electrocardiographic investigations.
  • Able to interpret ECGs and take appropriate action where required.
