Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 research nurse with relevant clinical experience to join our pulmonary hypertension research team at Royal Brompton hospital.
You will be primarily responsible for recruiting patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH) into clinical trials involving a new drug called sotatercept. This includes an early access program, before it becomes available on the NHS. You will also be involved in biobanking blood samples for these patients and others with PH. You will also help develop patient pathways and a patient registry.
Main duties of the job
You will be highly organised, competent in document and database management and data collection methods, and able to communicate effectively with clinical staff at all levels. As well as working with clinical investigators you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary care teams to manage your portfolio of studies. Duties will include screening and consenting patients for studies, organising and managing trial documents and taking/storing tissue samples. You will be expected to liaise with external commercial and academic research partners. You will work closely with the PH clinical nurse specialists to manage the sotatercept early access program, arranging prescriptions and monitoring of patients on the program.
Experience in clinical research is desirable but not essential: the successful applicant will receive a comprehensive induction to the service
