Job summary
The Lane Fox Respiratory and the Royal Brompton Sleep & Ventilation Service is seeking a new full-time (10 PA) consultant to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and multi-disciplinary team. This post is an opportunity to join a cross-site complex home ventilation and specialist weaning service with clinical commitment to delivering care. The post will have specialist interest in the management of patients with neuromuscular disease. The team is keen to appoint an individual with cores skills in respiratory medicine, with the opportunity for training to develop confidence in the management of specific areas such as complex home ventilation and specialist weaning offered if appropriate. The department is keen that the appointee will enhance the current team and ensure we maintain the service at the forefront of clinical and academic excellence.
Main duties of the job
The post is based at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
The post-holder will be expected to work flexibly across the 3 sites: Lane Fox St Thomas site (complex home ventilation, specialist weaning), Lane Fox Remeo site at East Surrey Hospital (complex home ventilation, specialist weaning) and Royal Brompton site (complex home ventilation).
The Lane Fox Respiratory Service offers a wide range of services to patients with chronic respiratory conditions. The post-holder will undertake home ventilation, outpatient sessions, ward rounds, and outreach and community reviews. The role includes time managing patients with neuromuscular disease. The post-holder will be expected to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide respiratory and holistic care. The successful applicant will be expected to take an active role in education and research within the Service.
