Job summary
Job Summary
This is an innovative post rotating through clinical departments giving a broad exposure to medicine mirroring the Internal Medicine Training Programme.
This is a standalone one-year post of 4 clinical rotations in respiratory medicine and is structured and administered as per the internal medicine training programme. These posts are at junior clinical fellow level equivalent to IMT1-2. For this reason, applicants must have undertaken work in the NHS in medical specialties prior to application. This must be equivalent to completion of the Foundation Programme and ideally additional work in a medical specialty at 'FY3/junior clinical fellow' level post Foundation competency sign off.
Role may close early if a sufficient number of applications have been received.
Main duties of the job
The posts rotate through a combination of 4 posts per 12 months of the programme:
- Asthma (3 months)
- Airways (3 months)
- Cystic fibrosis (3 months)
- Host Defence (3 months)
- Interstitial Lung Disease [ILD] (3 months)
- Sleep & Ventilation (3 months)
About us
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) is one of the largest hospital trusts in the country, comprising two of London's oldest and best-known teaching hospitals. The hospitals have a long history, dating back almost 900 years, and have been at the forefront of medical progress and innovation since they were founded. Both hospitals have built on these traditions and continue to have a strong national and international reputation for clinical excellence, teaching, research, and innovation.
GSTT includes St Thomas' Hospital, Guy's Hospital, Evelina London Children's Hospital and both adult and children's community services in Lambeth and Southwark. Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals also became part of Guy's and St. Thomas' in February 2021, bringing together world-leading expertise and research in heart and lung disease.
We are part of King's Health Partners (KHP), one of only eight accredited UK Academic Health Sciences Centres (AHSC), and a pioneering collaboration between one of the world's leading research-led universities and three of London's most successful NHS Foundation Trusts.
