Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to gain skills in obtaining, reporting and presenting paediatric and congenital cardiac MRI(CMR) and CT imaging. Whilst it is expected that the majority of the time in this post will be dedicated to CMR and CT, there will be a requirement to contribute to some outpatient clinic support and service improvement activity.

The post holder will participate in the paediatric CMR and CT service. This includes preparing patients, scanning and reporting. It is also expected that the post holder will be available to present imaging findings in multi-disciplinary meetings.

The CMR and CT service delivers imaging to all ages in paediatrics, extending to young adults, including capacity for CMR and CT under anaesthesia. The CMR programme includes all common clinical applications including anatomical and functional imaging, tissue characterisation, stress perfusion, and hybrid MRI cardiac catheterisation. Supervision includes EACVI CMR CHD level 3 certified trainers to facilitate formal accreditation. The CT service provides over 600 cardiac CTs per annum for elective and emergency provision.
