An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacy technician to join the Paediatric pharmacy team at the Royal Brompton Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacy Technician
We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated, innovative and enthusiastic pharmacy technician with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work with the paediatric pharmacy team and wider multidisciplinary team to provide medicines optimisation services to children within our centre.
As well as providing ward and clinic based medicines optimisation services, you will be responsible for innovating and implementing service development initiatives, and contribute to the development of the Clinical Pharmacy Technician role within paediatrics.
You must be a qualified Pharmacy Technician, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council with proven relevant experience in hospital pharmacy. You must be accredited in Medicines Optimisation for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent and experience in ward-based Medicines Optimisation is essential.
Main duties of the job
To lead and manage the ward-based Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician (MOPT's) service including responsibility for innovating and implementing service development initiatives, personal development and performance reviews of managed staff at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
To lead the development and provision of ward and clinic-based medicines optimisation services including, but not limited to: management of ward stock, medicines reconciliation, reuse of patients' own medicines, medicines supply, patient self-administration of medicine (SAM) schemes, patient education on medicines and the transfer of care around medicines.
To contribute to medicines optimisation training and education activities both within Pharmacy and to the wider multidisciplinary team.
