Job summary
The Department of Orthopaedics is seeking a (10 PA) consultant to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward-thinking team. This is a substantive position, to support growth in demand for hip arthroplasty surgery in our department.
The Orthopaedic Department is currently involved in many exciting initiatives and is looking for an individual with appropriate skills to complement this team, and help keep the service in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence.
The Department offers a wide range of service to patients. The post holder will undertake outpatient and inpatient sessions on a flexible basis and provide support to the fractured neck of femur pathway as required.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be accountable to the Clinical Director, Surgical Directorate.
As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This means that some staff groups will increasingly be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer services in the evenings or at weekends.
Job Summary:
To provide an orthopaedic and fractured neck of femur service in conjunction with colleagues The appointee will have a specialist expertise in hip replacement surgery and trauma The appointee will also carry 10 elective Saturday operating lists per year To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training To contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development The appointee will have a specialist expertise in hip arthroplasty surgery. The appointee must also provide hip replacement expertise for urgent cases such as hip fractures, metastases and peri-prosthetic fractures.About us
