Job summary
Renal Medicine is recruiting an Fy1 cover 4 months initially of a rostering absence.
The posts will offer experience of the clinical care of people in primarily an inpatient setting. The post attracts and on-call supplement within the department, covering wards at evening and day time weekends and with hospital at night team.
Participation in teaching, quality improvement programmes and research is actively encouraged and supported with a track record of academic output within the department.
The posts provide excellent Renal Medicine training and are ideal for those seeking to follow a career in Renal Medicine, General Practice or academic medicine.

Main duties of the job
Clinical
The post holder will, together with other junior doctors within the department, be responsible for the provision of Renal Medicine services to the Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
Teaching
All junior doctors are expected to take part in undergraduate teaching during their normal clinical work. Drs are allocated medical student teaching sessions in their timetables.
Research
This post has a regular commitment to involvement with the various studies being run by Renal Medicine.
Clinical Governance
The post holder will be expected to participate in the departments' clinical governance activity. Considerable opportunity to get involved in service development and audit exist.
Confidentiality
The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1998.
