Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Adult Epilepsy Service. The service is based at GSTT working over both main sites Guys Hospital and St Thomas' hospital. The post holder will act as a specialist and will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist epilepsy service, providing advice, education and support to patients and their families and health care professionals. The post holder will work as part of the epilepsy nursing team but also autonomously proving assessment, planning , delivery and evaluation of specialist clinical nursing for people with epilepsy.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside the specialist consultants and allied health professionals in the department of neurology and neurophysiology taking a key role in the management of adult patients with epilepsy.
You will actively undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area.
You will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the service, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
The post holder will be required to provide face to face clinics , telephone clinics, ward and accident and emergency reviews.
