Interview Date: 14th November 2024 - virtual interviews will be NOT be accommodated as we would rather meet you face to face
Main duties of the job
You will need the skills required to administer active treatment and provide care in a ward setting for an acutely unwell older person when they may not suitable for intensive care.
As well as these acute skills, our nurses also need the kindness and compassion to provide end of life care to our older persons and their families.
Some of our older persons are admitted with acute confusion or dementia so our nurses are required to be patient, kind and resourceful to de-escalate, distract and calm an acutely confused patient to enable treatment to be given and to keep them safe.
Then there is the huge satisfaction from seeing an older person that you have cared for nursed back to full health, 'given their independence back' and returned home. Other occasions where that is not possible, our nurses are instrumental in liaising with a whole multi-disciplinary team of staff to discharge an older person to a safer environment.
All fantastic transferable skills to any future career move.
Or stay with us - you won't regret it!
