The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking new full-time (10 PA) Consultants to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward-thinking team. The department is currently involved in many exciting initiatives and we are looking for individuals with appropriate skills to complement our team and help keep the service in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence.
Main duties of the job
The Department offers a wide range of services to a diverse patient population. We are a Trauma Unit, have expertise in toxicology, simulation, medical education and leadership. We manage a co-located Urgent Care Centre and Paediatric Emergency Department. The new consultant will help run and develop the adult services that are integrated with other teams across our Emergency Floor. They will be expected to take an active role in research and development and to participate in the teaching programs of the department.
The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years) and therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
