An exciting opportunity has arisen for Nursing within the Medical and Specialist Dermatology Services at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust to cover Phototherapy Unit (Dowling Day) and Dermatology Day Care (DDC).

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an ambitious, highly motivated individual who has substantive experience of working in Ambulatory Dermatology services. The Senior Staff Nurse will be expected to provide adequate visible leadership and management of patients attending for specialised treatment.
On Dowling Phototherapy, the senior staff Nurse will be expected to provide Narrowband UVB, PUVA, UVA, Iontophoresis and Excimer treatments to patients referred from general and tertiary specialist dermatology clinics for adults and paediatric patients with dermatological conditions.
On the Day centre the senior staff Nurse will provide expert Knowledge/experience in topical therapy and wound care treatment to our patient population. In addition, the post holder will also participate in the smooth running and provision of holistic care to patients on DDC and Dowling Day Unit.
The SSN will be expected to rotate between the different services in the Department. The post holder will be responsible for providing strong leadership skills and driving daily operational direction, managing the band 5 staff nurses and Healthcare Assistants application of Care, undertake writing up of topical treatments plans, explaining/demonstrating use of topical treatments, assisting with admission to DDC and referrals to the various services. There will also be opportunity to facilitate our outpatients clinic.

- To actively maintains documentation in accordance with the NMCs Record Keeping Guidelines
- Takes an active role in monitoring and ensuring standards of care at own base, developing awareness for clinical governance issues.
