Hospitality Waiter/Hostess - Band 2

In our catering department we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Hospitality Waiter/Hostess to join our inhouse evolving catering team.

You will be responsible for the day to day delivery of an efficient hospitality service across several sites. You will be required to work within the team and also able to work on your own initiative.

The role will be hands on, delivering a consistent quality service that is innovative and market leading, whilst offering detailed advice and adhering to Trust & Government guidelines.

Flexible working throughout the week including weekends, together with delivering excellent customer service and adhering to food hygiene as well as health and safety practices at all times is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing an essential and efficient customer and food service to all designated Hospitality areas; whilst meeting the service needs and objectives of both the department and the wider Trust.

T The preparation and service of all hospitality events which will include food services: Trolleys, Hot & Cold fork buffets, Sit down dinners, breakfasts and drinks service around the Trust. To deliver unparalleled customer service of the highest standards at all times with excellent attention to detail. Events include: Ministerial & Royal visits, Corporate away days, Medical seminars & training conferences, Graduation events and Outdoor charity events working in partnership with GSTT/Evelina and NHS England Charities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Higher Education or NVQ Level 2
  • Excellent command of the English language, including oral and written communication skills
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Patient/Customer Lead Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE)
  • Knowledge of manual handling procedures
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Services
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures

Experience

Essential

  • Experience within a large Hospitality/Events facilities services department
  • Experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office packages
  • Cashier experience (cash/credit card handling procedures)
  • Good numerical skills.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within the healthcare profession or hotel industry
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual systems
