Job summary
We are recruiting an experienced band 3 nursing assistant to work alongside our nursing team, on our 25 bedded fast-paced haemato-oncology ward supporting patients across their cancer journey. You will get to work alongside a very supportive team to deliver care to our patients.
The post holder should be competent with taking patient observations, blood glucose monitoring, phlebotomy and cannulation, and assisting patients with activities of daily living. They should also have experience of simple wound dressings and be willing to undertake training in more complex dressings.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic nursing assistant, with excellent communication skills.
This post will involve internal rotation to night shifts and weekends.

Main duties of the job
Samaritan Ward cares for a range of oncology and haematology patients who are at varying stages of their cancer journey.
Samaritan is an extremely rewarding area to work in. It is fast paced and hosts a variety of opportunities to develop your clinical skills.
We are looking for someone to lead a team of nursing assistants and take pride in doing so. The nursing assistant role is an integral part of our nursing team and they contribute significantly to the day to day care of the patients.
The ward works on a shift rota pattern with the candidate expected to be able to work long days, nights and weekends.
Long day: 07:30 - 20:00
Night shift: 19:30 - 08:00
