Job summary

In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary nursing team, the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care. They act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. TThe post holder will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the service, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues. Also ensures the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity

Main duties of the job

Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation Trust hosts one of the largest transplant programmers in the UK.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the pre-transplant living donor and recipient teams with preparing patients for living and deceased donor transplant surgery and will participate in the 24/7 on-call service receiving deceased donor offers . They will ensure the safety and well being of services users and work in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person- centred care principles.

To apply for this post, you must be registered with the NMC and be have completed a post-registration renal course and have a mentorship qualification. You will need to demonstrate that you can work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team and have several years experience working in a variety of renal settings. Experience in a renal transplantation is essential.
