Job summary

Are you an experienced band 2 nursing assistant looking for a challenge and interested in working in an exciting and rewarding ward that specialises in care of the older person.

Are you already a band 3 Senior nursing assistant who would like to challenge themselves to a different environment.

Alexandra ward is a 28-bedded ward with a really friendly, diverse and supportive multidisciplinary team. We promote best practice and clinical excellence and you can become part of this.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are caring and kind to join our fantastic team on Alexandra ward.

This role will allow you to develop and gain a range of additional skills which will enhance your own personal development whilst contributing to the high standard of care expected on Alexandra ward.

You will be expected to work with the wider multi-disciplinary team and support junior colleagues such as nursing assistants and student nurses.

Main duties of the job

Guys and St Thomas' Older Persons Unit provides acute and rehabilitation services in each ward Alexandra, Anne and Henry Ward. Each 28-bedded ward underwent refurbishment to provide patients a dementia friendly environment in Central London. We take pride in setting good standard of care in elderly and ensuring our nursing workforce has the necessary skills to deliver the best care possible.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, experienced nursing assistants. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills.

Team work is very important to us - you will be joining a committed team on Alexandra ward so being a team player is essential.

We really value our Nursing Assistants' role in our ability to provide holistic care to our patients. You will need a flexible approach, be dedicated and able to role model an excellent level of patient care and experience.

The Senior Nursing Assistants also have a leadership role, supporting students, the band 2 Nursing Assistants and also the newly qualified registered nurses.

We actively support the buddy programme and other opportunities to develop further. Some of our Nursing assistants have gone on to be successful applicants to the Apprentice Nursing Associate programme.

This is a full time position including days, nights and weekends.
