Job summary
A very exciting new opportunity has arisen at Evelina London Children's Hospital (ELCH) for an ambitious Deputy Director of Nursing Evelina London and Head of Nursing in the Cardio-respiratory and Paediatric Intensive Care Directorate (CRIC) at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. This is a new key role as part of Director of Nursing Team and the Directorate Management Team (DMT) triumvirate.
We are merging and developing the services including those at The Royal Brompton and Harefield service which are already merged, to facilitate the move to the St Thomas' site and we are also going to be having the Royal Marsden Children's Primary Treatment centre.
Main duties of the job
There is a clear vision and transformation plan to enact to support this with nursing being a significant contributor and guide to implement the many developments envisaged in the Clinical Group and for CRIC services to be co located and to develop cohesive teams to form a new vibrant culture. You will from the outset, be responsible for nurse staffing across all services to deliver excellent nursing care to children and families. You will have specific responsibilities both in the Clinical Group and the DMT for promoting excellent nursing care and an important contribution to clinical care, professional practice, and effective management and delivery of the clinical group plan for all services and specifically the transformation plan in CRIC.
You will need to have a strong commitment to high standards of patient care, safety and quality and to support innovation and transformation, and to contribute to sound financial practice to promote stability and growth.
We are seeking candidates who are Registered Nurses with significant experience of leadership at a senior level to work not just within the DMT, but also as an active member of the Director of Nursing team for the Clinical Group working with the other directorates and across the trust as a senior nurse. You will report operationally to the Clinical Director and operationally and professionally to the Director of Nursing as the Deputy.
