Job summary

The Referral Management Service at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Team Leader to support the running of the service. The post is a full-time role which involves working cross-site and reporting to the Assistant Service Manager

Main duties of the job

The role will require you to manage staff across two sites and work with confidential information. It requires a candidate with strong data quality skills and previous staff management experience.The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Referral Management admin team, auditing internal processes and delivery of PDRs and performance management.

Duties include:

  • Provide a secure and efficient referral service, ensuring all paperwork is processed in line with Trust targets
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the team in line with Trust policies
  • Supervision and management of RMC processes to ensure acceptable standards and data quality
  • Auditing and validation of work to ensure resolution of any errors such as quality, delays etc
  • To ensure resolution of enquiries, complaints and carry out complex investigations regarding any aspect of the RMC process
  • To provide training, development and support for staff to ensure delivery of the service.
  • Review and report on staff performance, setting clear standards and objectives, identifying training/development needs and performance/conduct issues
  • Manage and ensure accurate records of staff attendance, annual leave and sick leave to ensure the service is always adequately covered
  • To ensure statistical information is produced, collated and analysed on a daily basis to assist in evaluating the efficiency of the team

  • Experience which includes; staff supervision, delivering training, motivating staff, carrying out appraisals and dealing with basic HR issues in accordance with policies
  • Experience of referrals and ASI's

Desirable

  • Proven experience of managing service issues effectively
  • Knowledge of key waiting times targets including 18 weeks

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ 3 certificate in management or equivalent qualification/experience in relevant field

Desirable

  • NVQ 2 certification in Team Leading

Skills/Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
