Job summary

The Department of Orthodontics at GSTT is seeking a 6 PA part time Consultants in Orthodontics.

Applicants must be fully registered with the GDC and on the GDC Specialist Register in Orthodontics, be accredited or within six months of such accreditation at interview stage and have completed a SAC approved training programme or equivalent.

Clinical Service Provision: Collaborate with other consultants to providecomprehensive orthodontic care, including treatment and management dutiesnecessary for the department's proper functioning. Coverage: Share responsibility with other consultants for covering annual leaveand short-term sickness of colleagues. Supervision: Clinically supervise junior dental staff and orthodontic therapists incoordination with other consultant colleagues. Teaching and Examination: Conduct teaching, examinations, and accreditationduties, contributing to educational and clinical governance initiatives. Research: Contribute to departmental research in line with the Trusts R&Dframework. Audit Participation: Participate in the department's Audit Programme. Service Business Planning: Actively participate in formulating, implementing, andmonitoring the Dental Service Business Plan, including discussions on serviceplans and developments with internal and external agencies. Operational Compliance: Conduct all activities within the contracted level ofservice and the operating plan for care services. Professional Leadership: Provide professional leadership within the specialty,fostering and developing projects, and ensuring ongoing post-qualificationprofessional education and training. Productivity and Satisfaction: Work with clinical and professional colleagues tomaintain staff productivity and enhance job satisfaction, including involvement injunior colleagues' appraisal processes.
