An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the pharmacy team at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals. This role and is based at Royal Brompton Hospital within our established, developed, and well-resourced pharmacy department. We are looking for a committed, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will contribute to our ongoing success. You will work as part of a friendly and supportive team of pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.This is a great opportunity for a person to work as the purchasing and distribution manager based at Royal Brompton Hospital. We are looking for either a pharmacy technician, pharmacy assistant or pharmacy administrator, who has experience in purchasing and ready to take on a senior role.This post is based at the Royal Brompton Site, with a commitment to Harefield hospital and need to be able to work flexibly across all GSTT sites.

Main duties of the job

To manage the operational running of the Pharmacy Purchasing Office, ensuring that staff are allocated to respond to workload. To ensure ordering and invoicing of pharmaceuticals, including medical and special gases is undertaken according to Trust procedures and that office systems and equipment are maintained.

To deputise for the Pharmacy Purchasing and Distribution Lead.

To be responsible for ensuring there is an efficient Pharmacy stock and medicines management service on assigned wards and ensuring the ward stock is correctly stored and stock rotated, liaising with pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and ward staff.

To manage the purchasing, supply and stock levels of medical and special gases.

To maintain Pharmacy computer files with current prices and contract details

To investigate purchasing and invoicing queries to a successful conclusion.

To provide support to the Harefield pharmacy distribution team site, ensuring procedures are followed, invoicing is up to date and queries are resolved in a timely way.

To ensure that infection prevention and control (IPC) is an integral part of service delivery.

If a pharmacy technician, support the dispensary as an accredited checking pharmacy technician.

This role is based at Royal Brompton Hospital but need to be able to work flexibly across all GSTT sites.
