Junior Clinical Fellow Oral maxillofacial & Head and Neck Surgical Oncology - (Commencement date TBC)
Salary: £43,923 p.a excluding London Zone
Full Time, Fixed Term: 12 months
Location: Guy's Hospital, London, SE1
Main duties of the job
The Fellowship would suit an OMFS/Oral Medicine/ENT trainee at Foundation/Core Training level interested in developing skills of diagnosing oral conditions including head and neck malignancy. The fellow will gain exposure to surgical management in theatre and also have the opportunity to attend specialist oral medicine outpatient clinics and be responsible for research and audit. + GMC/GDC

Job responsibilities
Our unit is one of the largest tertiary referral base centres in the UK for Complex Head and Neck Oncological Surgery including Salvage Surgery, Transoral Robotic Surgery, Thyroid and Salivary Gland Cancer. The Unit also provides a tertiary referral base for complex Thyroid Surgery including revision and mediastinal surgery, malignant skull base surgery, complex head and neck skin cancers and surgery osteoradionecrosis. It is a high-volume unit performing between 2-5 free flaps a week and over 50 TORS cases per annum.
The successful candidate will be working as part of the Oral maxillofacial team within Head and Neck surgical oncology unit working primarily under the supervision of Dr Barbara Carey (Consultant in Oral Medicine), Mr Alastair Fry, Mr Mustansir Alibhai and Mr Rafal Niziol (Oral and maxillofacial head and neck Surgery).
