Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacy assistant to advance their career in a hospital pharmacy setting as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer. Join our Surgery Pharmacy Team and contribute to the ongoing development of our pharmacy services. This position is perfect for a team player who is sensitive to the needs of service users (nurses and patients) and possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and nurses to resolve medicines management issues on the ward.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Surgical Pharmacy Team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive pharmacy support for the wards, including stock control, labelling, assembly, dispensing, and distribution of medicines that underpins our clinical services. You will play a proactive role in ensuring the safe and effective storage and supply of medicines on surgical wards, including suggesting solutions for our supply services. This position requires flexibility, as you will work both on the wards and in the dispensary to meet team and service needs. The service covers 7 wards at the St Thomas' site and 2 wards at the Guy's site, with our team working on both sites.

  • Previous experience working in a hospital pharmacy dispensary
