Job summary

Responsible for providing an efficient, high quality data entry and clerical support to data team within the department under the supervision the Data Manager and Audit Leads.

  • The post holder will assist in the collection, verification, analysis and validation and data entry of all data submission requirements for national bodies (such as NICOR and The Vascular Society) within the Cardiovascular Directorate, ensuring accuracy at all times.
  • Facilitate and manage the collation of data for the monthly department Audit meetings and assist in the analysis of data for such meetings.
  • Work with the Kings Health Partnership within Guys and St. Thomas' NHS Trust and Kings College Hospital NHS Trust
  • Handle sensitive information and must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Support the implementation of the Directorate's 'Assuring Clinical Outcomes' policy as part of its Clinical Governance Strategy.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive database of all cardiovascular patients for the provision of clinical audit.

Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of the cardiovascular audit leads collect, validate and submit data on all heart failure patients to NICOR, liaising with medical staff, theatres and wards to ensure completion of all data on all patients.

To work as a member of the Cardiovascular Data team, reporting to the Cardiovascular QIPS Manager and providing cross cover when required.

Work with Heart Failure, MINAP, SCTS, EPS, TAVI, Vascular and Intervention Teams to collate, verify and accurately enter patient data on the national databases (NICOR, NVR)

Consistently and reliably meet monthly deadlines.

Communicate data collection and validation requirements to staff within the directorate

Review agreed data sets each week and inform the relevant staff of missing data

Assist the department in other data requests or collection of information such as local audits

Ensure that national data entry deadlines are met in a timely manner so that the trust is fully compliant
