Job summary

Tower and Nuffield Theatres comprises of 7 operating theatres with array of surgical specialties (Ortho, ENT, Head and Neck, Breast, Plastics, Urology, Endo-Urology, Podiatry) We also have a stage two recovery lounge with ambulatory patients and support day case discharges.

Main duties of the job

Nursing Associate - Theatre role

  • Admit surgical patients
  • Record vital signs, height and weight
  • Undertake urine analysis
  • Venepuncture and Cannulation
  • Undertake ECG's
  • Personal care of patients
  • Support cleanliness of environment
  • Scrub and circulate in theatres
  • Assist with postoperative care (recovery)
  • Assist with second stage recovery care in discharge lounges
  • Proficient user of electronic health record
