Consultant in General and Cardiac Genetics - 0.8WTE

The Genetics Centre at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, forward thinking colleague to join a dynamic and growing Consultant team. You should have extensive clinical, training, and teaching experience in General Clinical Genetics and Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions. The department has a strategic ambition to integrate genomics across the organisation and since merging with the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals in 2021 there is a growing opportunity to develop the Cardiac Genetics service.

We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate a well-rounded clinical and teaching experience in general genetics and genomics, and deliver a high-quality clinical work in outpatient and in-patient setting, as well as to participate in, mainly virtual, multidisciplinary team working.

The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, enthusiastic, innovation favouring, friendly and supportive team. We will encourage our new colleague to develop specialist expertise, or to continue to build on the experience they have already mastered, in an area of interest which preferably, but not exclusively, complements departmental existing strengths.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be accountable to the Clinical Lead for Clinical Genetics.
