The Critical Care Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Clinical ResearchFellow in Critical Care Nephrology.
The postholder will primarily be responsible for developing and delivering research studies in critical care nephrology.
The post would be ideal for a clinician at ST3+ level looking to explore academic research opportunities and/or considering applying for a higherdegree in the field of critical care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be will be based at St Thomas' hospital with their split across at Guys Hospital as needed.
The post holder will support the Lead Research Consultant and the established Critical Care Research Nurse team to recruit to existing studies,support and develop new studies in critical care nephrology.

Job responsibilities
The Research Fellow will be responsible for delivering studies in critical care nephrology under the supervision of the principal investigator. Full training in relevant clinical research skills including clinical trial conduct will be provided.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Participation in design of clinical studies
- Screening and recruitment of potentially eligible patients in critical care
- Consenting and enrolment of participants
- Support, follow-up and clinical assessment of enrolled study participants and families according to the study protocol
- Liaison with R&D and collaborators
- Laboratory analyses
- Collection and quantitative/qualitative analysis of study data and maintenance of database
- Preparation of study documents, ethics applications, study materials and reports
- Presentation and dissemination of progress reports and findings, including manuscript publication
- Clinical trial management and conduct according to GCP principles
- Teaching and training of medical, nursing and allied staff as well as medical students
