South East London Newborn Hearing Screening Programme
We are looking for a friendly, flexible and highly motivated individual with previous experience working in a screening service, and managing staff, to join our team as an Assistant Manager.
This is a fulltime position with core working hours Monday to Friday, the role includes off-site weekend on-call cover on rotation.
Our service is located in 5 different hospital sites across SEL the post holder will need to travel to the different sites on occasions to attend meetings or provide support. This position will be based at the Children & Young People's Audiology Centre at St Thomas's Hospital With the option to work from home 1 or 2 days a week (depending on service cover needs and meetings).

Main duties of the job
The role includes providing line management support for the services Site Leads, deputising for the Programme Lead in her absence and overseeing the training programme of new screeners in the service. Including supporting and assessing screeners completing their competency assessments and the Health Screening Diploma Level 3.
The Assistant manager will work closely with the Programme Lead and Head of Service to maintain a high level of screening service delivery and support the team. They will have line management responsibility for 3 site leads and will also provide help and support across the SEL Screening teams as and when needed. Relevant training will be provided as required and dependent on the successful applicant's previous experience, knowledge and skill such as completing a CAVA (Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement).
