Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join the paediatric respiratory team at Royal Brompton Hospital as a Long Term Ventilation (LTV) clinical nurse specialist. The successful candidate will work as part of the established and growing clinical Multidisciplinary team (MDT) working with a specific group of children and young people requiring LTV and complex care.
The post holder will work alongside the clinical nurse specialist and multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent care for these children, young people, and their families within the six Cs framework of nursing. The post involves working autonomously with children and families on the ward, in clinics and in the community carrying out home and school visits. You would also support nursing colleagues in other trusts and in the community as well as supporting the child to access school.
We are looking for a children's nurse with a good experience of caring for children with respiratory disease and ideally experience in caring for children and young people who require LTV support. This postis also an excellent opportunity for development, and we would welcome someone who is keen to develop and gain experience working as a CNS in our friendly team.

Main duties of the job
In partnership with members of the multidisciplinary nursing team the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care. They act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area.
