As an Assistant Sourcing Manager, you will be a key part of our Procurement Transformation Programme, engaging with multi-functional teams across our shared service members to provide cohesive opportunities that deliver value-based outcomes to both Trust and patient.

We currently have 2 Assistant Sourcing Manageropportunities (1 with a clinical focus and 1 with a non clinical focus).

Main duties of the job

  • Collaborate closely with the Sourcing Manager to identify sourcing opportunities and strategies to cohesively support our Shared Service members.
  • Assist in developing and executing sourcing plans for various categories, driving cost savings, resilience of supply and quality of product and / or service.
  • Conduct market research and spend analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the Shared Service.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to support and advise on procurement processes and initiatives.

Job Summary:

  • Works as a member of the procurement team to ensure the provision of a cost effective, efficient and professional procurement service to the Trust and members of the Smart Together shared service.
  • Through the collation and analysis of data, provide information to support procurement projects and aid appropriate product standardisation and rationalisation, improved business processes and cost improvements.
  • Conduct quotation and tendering activities where appropriate for allocated products and services, including the provision of sound commercial advice to internal customers and to support the Senior/Sourcing Manager/s in all aspects of contract award, management and administration.
  • The post holder will be required to attend and contribute to meetings, develop presentations, reports and other relevant documents to support the smooth-running procurement processes.
  • With operate in a planned, consistent and prioritised manner to ensure the corporate/ clinical objectives are met.
  • Supports the development, planning, and delivery of the shared service Cost Improvement Programme.
