Job summary
The Temporary Staffing Rostering Team is part of the People Operations team within the People Directorate. It provides effective management of temporary staffing placements within the Trust, in order to support a flexible, safe and cost-effective workforce. The Trust Staff Bank provides an extremely active and successful flexible staffing service to the Trust for all groups of staff including nursing, medical locums, estates and facilities, admin & clerical, IT contractors, allied health professionals and healthcare scientists.
The Deputy Head of Temporary Staffing is responsible for service delivery, operational management and leadership of Temporary Staffing Team (approx. 32 staff) in order to deliver an effective, safe and cost effective in-house temporary staffing service to the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure that the service is delivered in accordance with Trust values, objectives, targets, quality standards and controls, and within budgetary constraints. This includes the provision of a 7-day per week temporary staffing service across the organisation as well as the development and growth of the function.
As well managing a large internal Staff Bank across all staffing groups, the post holder will also negotiate and manage service level agreements and contracts, working in partnership with external agencies, NHS organisations, and other service providers in order to ensure a safe and cost-effective temporary staffing service that meets the requirements of the Trust.
The post holder will provide expert advice to the team, Trust managers and HRSS colleagues in order to ensure best practice, compliance with legislation, effective use of resources and continuous improvement developing the service to be a centre of excellence for the delivery of temporary resourcing
