This exciting opportunity has arisen on Samaritan Ward for a permanent position. The successful candidate will work alongside the nursing team, with the support of the ward sister and senior leadership team in ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered to all our patients.
We aim to provide outstanding and specialised care to our Haematology-oncology patients who are undergoing new and innovative treatments and come to us from across the country for our specialist services.
You will work as part of our highly skilled team and closely with an extensive multidisciplinary team to ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care, and learn new things every day.
You may also have the opportunity to complete the Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Course which will allow you to administer chemotherapy independently and develop your clinical skills!

Main duties of the job
On Samaritan ward we care for patients with a range of Haematology and Oncology cancers, sickle cell disease and other related disorders. Our aim is to provide expert care to patients and their families along their treatment journey.
The candidate we seek should have experience in cancer nursing and be looking to join The Senior Nursing Team, supported by the Ward Manager and Matron, the Band 6 will be responsible for standards of clinical care and patient experience.
You should be adept in tailoring your communication to the different groups of people you work with; be used to responding to competing priorities and keeping the patient at the centre of your work.
Cancer treatment is a continually developing field, with the chance to be involved in delivering novel treatments, offering a variety of learning opportunities and excellent career progression.
