Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated senior nurse who wishes to progress their career within a forward-thinking directorate, clinical group, and organisation.

Integrated Local Services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.

The post holder is accountable to the Deputy Director of Nursing and working in partnership with colleagues in the directorate management team (including the other Head of Nursing post) to ensure the directorate delivers on its objectives across a range of clinical services. They are responsible for providing the directorate nursing leadership on a range ofinitiatives and will deputise for the Deputy Director of Nursing as required.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Nursing provides strategic, professional and operational nursing leadership across the Directorate through effective role modelling. The post holder is accountable for delivery of timely, safe, high quality, cost effective nursing patient care within budget constraints. They provide strong leadership to enable services to respond effectively to the challenges it will face whilst providing efficient clinical services and sustained improvements.

As a member of the Senior Nursing Team, the post holder will also be responsible for delivering on Directorate and Clinical Group nursing initiatives. The Head of Nursing also plays an important role within the KHP Clinical Academic Groups, forming part of the leadership executive team they are expected to identify and implement a strategy for nursing practice, research and education as well as contribute to other CAG developments.
