Job summary
AAC is scheduled for 11th January.
We are looking to appoint a full-time (10 PA's) substantive consultant specialising in paediatric radiology (8 DCC/ 2SPA).
This is a replacement post to meet the increasing demand for diagnostic paediatric radiology services across the south of London network as well as the expansion of the children's hospital facilities.
The successful candidate will work at the Children's Radiology department in the Evelina London Children's Hospital (ELCH), as part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team of 8 other paediatric radiologists.
The post holder will help facilitate the service including rapid access to paediatric imaging services, integration and collaboration with clinical teams, paediatric imaging network development and improved regional access to specialist imaging.
The successful candidate should be proficient in all aspects of paediatric diagnostic radiology including plain film reporting, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, MRI and CT, and contribute to the on-call rota for paediatric radiology.
Main duties of the job
The post will be based at ELCH building on the St Thomas' Hospital site. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service and ongoing expansion of the paediatric services.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment. In addition to supporting the established diagnostic radiology services, the post holder will be expected to take an active interest in research and service development and to participate in the teaching program of the department.
The weekly rota, including leave, is managed through an online platform (Medirota) which allows full visibility of session cover, DCC and SPA activity, across the consultant team and overall department. This has been in place since October 2022 and ensures safe and robust service planning with live updates and interactive communication with the A&C, bookings and other staff in the department.
