Job summary

You are invited to apply for a Paediatric Gastroenterology Clinical fellow post in Paediatric Gastroenterology. The post is based in Evelina London Children's Hospital and will be for 6 months with the option of extending once in post.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to have broad training in general paediatrics. They must demonstrate leadership qualities and clear, innovative thinking, and a track record in communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

About us

The Paediatric Gastroenterology service at the Evelina Children's Hospital is formed of 4 consultants, two clinical fellows, 3 clinical Nurse Specialist, 2.5 Dietitians and 1.5 psychologist led by Dr Rakesh Vora. The service provides a multidisciplinary approach to the assessment and management of acute and chronic gastrointestinal and nutritional disorders including children on long term parenteral nutrition.

We offer a range of diagnostic investigations including endoscopy, pH impedance, anorectal and oesophageal manometries and bowel transit studies. Endoscopy lists take place at Evelina on a weekly basis in dedicated paediatric theatres.

Day to day management of acute and elective paediatric gastroenterology admissions, advice and support to the General paediatric and paediatric A&E service, liaison services for patients under other speciality with gastro problems under the guidance of the consultant.

Management of the significant number of our patients who come to us from PICU, and form an interesting group with complex problems.

Supervision of SHOs on the wards.

Attending outpatient clinics under supervision of a consultant.

Attendance of endoscopy lists and an opportunity to learn if post holder is keen.
