Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our well-established safeguarding children nursing team. The post holder will be an integral part of the children's safeguarding team and will work very closely with the Named Professionals to deliver the Trust's statutory requirements and safeguarding agenda. The post holder will be required to work within the hospital setting and provide visible leadership knowledge and expertise in all aspects of safeguarding children. Direct patient facing contact is a core component of the role and undertaking complex person centered safeguarding assessments and safety planning. The post holder will strengthen the safeguarding nursing leadership function and provide opportunities to align strategic priorities with senior nurse leadership portfolios. The post holder will directly oversee operational delivery, effectiveness, and performance of specified areas. The post holder will work cross site between the Royal Brompton Hospital and Evelina London Children's Hospital. The main clinical focus will be for the Children Cardiac, Respiratory and Intensive Care areas.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will engage in regular consultation work with practitioners; this will include clinical support and guidance, case management and supervision. Direct patient facing contact is a core component of the role and undertaking complex person centered safeguarding assessments and safety planning. The post holder will be required to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills to enhance decision making in relation to the protection of vulnerable children. The post holder will be responsible for the direct line management for the safeguarding nurse specialists within the hospital team.
