We are looking for qualified Specialist Practice Teachers to join the 'outstanding' Evelina London and be part of the wider Guys & St Thomas' nursing community in the boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.
Our vision is to develop a progressive, inclusive and sustainable workforce that is able to meet the diverse and changing needs of the families whom we serve. We are invested in the development of Health Visiting and this is underpinned by the Trust Nursing Strategy and training programme for all roles within the Health Visiting teams. All Health Visitors and Community Staff Nurses have corporate membership with the Institute of Health Visiting (iHV) which offers a wealth of professional training programmes and resources to support excellent practice.
Our Health Visiting service is supported by a skill mix team that include innovative support services such as the Early Intervention Health Visiting Service, who support our most complex families and our Early Start Service, a dedicated resource working closely with Health Visiting Service which provides one-to-one support and advice to families who need additional support in both Southwark and Lambeth boroughs.

Main duties of the job
o The SCPT will facilitates the integration of theory/evidence based research into practice for SCPHN Students and the wider team.
o Provide appropriate community based learning for pre- registration nursing students and post registration students undertaking the SCPHN qualification to BSc or MSc level.
o Mentor, coach and support all students in their community placement during their academic study.
o Demonstrate clinical expertise and act as a resource to facilitate the development of the profession and the development of services that meet the health needs of a defined population.
o Coordinate teaching programmes for students and other members of the health visiting team.
o Work in collaboration with the Higher Education Institutions and attend all the mandated practice teacher's study days.
o Promote and improve the health and wellbeing of children and families within a defined population.
