Job summary

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Band 2 Nursing Assistant/ Theatre Support Worker to work at our new Nuffield Theatre modular site. The role is rotational and will include working in the main site at Guys Tower Theatres. Skills required are as follows.

  • Admitting the surgical patient
  • Taking vital signs
  • Recording ECG's
  • Venepuncture/ Cannulation
  • Supporting patient care in theatres
  • Assisting theatre staff in theatres with equipment, stock replenishment and general housekeeping duties.

On the Guys site Tower Theatres comprises of three operating theatres with array of surgical specialties namely; ENT, Urology , Breast, Orthopaedics. There is an active lithotripsy suite and support for pre and post endoscopy patients. The clinical area also supports a surgical admissions area and post-operative second stage recovery for day case procedures. The clinical area works in collaboration in Guys Main Theatres to support patient discharges where appropriate.

Nuffield Theatres is located at a satellite suite on the Guys site (Newcomen Street) This facility is undergoing major expansion to support a new surgical admission lounge, two new modular theatres and an 8 bedded recovery unit. Upon completion Nuffield theatres will comprise of 4 operating theatres that will support robotic urology procedures, orthopaedics, pain and plastic procedures. This is very exciting project which will present opportunity for growth and development to successful the candidate.
