Main duties of the job
Your job plan is anticipated to contain 10 Programmed Activities per week on average to be carried out on Guy's & St Thomas' sites and includes on-call commitments. As a Department we are open to flexible working patterns which suit the Department and individual needs with agreement with the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead. Over the last year, remote Home Reporting solution has been deployed to the majority of radiologists across all subspecialties. Continuing roll out is anticipated as the need arises and flexible and home working patterns will be reviewed. A proposed job plan is provided below and the post holder will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan, including personal and professional objectives, with the Clinical Director within 3 months of starting.
As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This means that some staff groups will increasingly be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer services in the evenings or at weekends. It is stressed that as part of the Directorate's move to extended working that the post holder may be asked to include weekend sessions as part of their regular job plan.
About us
The post will be based at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service.
Guy's and St Thomas' is among the UK's busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular services.
Guy's is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas' has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children's Hospital.
