We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic, motivated nurse, who has a passion in Renal Nursing.
The successful candidate must have good sound knowledge of haemodialysis and treatment pathways. They must have experience of MDT working with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be suited to the dynamic pace of this very busy service. It is essential to have a genuine interest and advanced knowledge of renal /Haemodialysis. Knowledge of Plasma apheresis' will be advantageous .

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to help support the Units Cross Site including Patience Ward, Richard Bright Ward. Critical Care Unit and St Thomas' Dialysis Unit.
To be able to establish a good safe working environment in which patients receive a high standard of care.
Should be an effective and consistent team player and ensures that communication is effective between patients, relatives and members of the multi-disciplinary team. Communicates with staff in otherareas of the renal unit to ensure that, when necessary, patient care is transferred safely from one part of the renal unit to another. Cascades information to relevant groups of staff.

- Is responsible for a defined caseload of Acute Dialysis Team.
- Is responsible for the management of a ward or department or equivalent sphere of nursing including the deployment and supervision of staff in the absence of a Sister/Charge Nurse.
- To provide clinical & management support to the ward manager i.e. Health roster, Staff Appraisals, attends meetings/handover in absence of Manager.
- Setting and monitoring standards of dialysis care.
- Assesses, develops and implements specialised dialysis care and is responsible for maintenance of standards by all members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Coordinates in-patients dialysis treatment to wards nursing team.
- Provides highly specialised nursing advice to ensure appropriate treatment and care is delivered to the patient at all times.
- Refers and orders specialised tests in line with agreed protocols and clinical governance guidelines
