Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in ENT for a fixed term, band 4 Outpatient Team Leader.

This post would suit someone who is interested in making their first step into management, so experience is not essential. The successful postholder will be someone who models Trust values.

This role is to support the Assistant Service Manager in the delivery of a range of outpatient services. The successful postholder will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate this by developing and maintaining great relationships with a multidisciplinary team, as well as patients and external stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

Main duties o this post will be as follows:

* Create rotas

*Supervise Outpatients Team

*Support ENT ASM

*Support Service Delivery

Qualifications/ Education

Essential

  • NVQ 3 certificate in management or equivalent qualification in relevant field

Desirable

  • NVQ 2 certification in Team Leading

Previous experience

Essential

  • Significant team leader experience which includes; staff supervision, delivering training, motivating staff, carrying out appraisals and dealing with basic HR issues in accordance with policies
  • Proven experience of managing service issues effectively

Skills/Knowledge/ Ability

Essential

  • Able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritise between competing demands and to delegate effectively.
  • Effective working whilst under pressure, maintaining control and confidence
  • The ability to work unsupervised and using own initiative.

Desirable

  • Microsoft Word / Excel skills
