Responsible for effective maintenance of the Trust's technical infrastructure. Through personal leadership, commitment and practice the post holder will secure the highest professional standards of engineering standards throughout the Trust. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the estate manager, the engineering teams, Capital development and environment teams.
Responsible for the effective implementation of the Trust's Health & Safety policies and protocols.

Main Duties
- Performs the duties of the Estate Manager in their absence.
- Responsible for the direct implementation of all Operational Health & Safety policies and protocols, ensuring that working practices comply with these in both spirit and practice.
- Responsible for the continuing use and introduction of management systems to control and monitoring of plant and equipment necessary to meet the requirements of all current legislation, sale and achieve high plant efficiency at the lowest operating cost.
- To support the remodelling of the Directorates services to create a more generic, seamless and efficient non-clinical support which meets the needs of patients and clinical colleagues.
- The position will ensure that all Trust Management and personnel policies are cascaded to all staff and implementation is bath consistent and effective throughout the estates Department.
- Responsible for the preparation and issue of tender specifications for annual service contracts relating to external specialist maintenance services.
- Develops long term capital plans to reduce backlog maintenance problems.
- Able to operate a CAD (Computer Aided Design) system.
- Has an appreciation of engineering measuring tools to monitor plan and equipment efficiency.
