Main duties of the job
The post is a fixed term appointment for 12 months allowing the post holder to focus on developing skills and experience in all aspects of endocrinology and diabetes in a teaching hospital setting.The Trust is a regional and supra-regional referral centre and provides a full range of medical and surgical subspecialties. The Diabetes & Endocrinology Day Centre operates on both sites providing a service to people with diabetes and endocrine conditions plus lipid disorders and obesity with aresearch team integrated in the department. All services work very closely with our local primary care services.The postholder will:
- Provide clinical support to the diabetes and endocrinology consultants, with specific emphasis on outpatient clinics.
- Participate in clinical and other service activities, including seeing urgent cases in the days centres with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care
- Contribute to governance, audit and Quality improvement in the department
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment.
This post holder will also be involved in national audits and projects that are carried out in the department.
