Job summary
We are looking for an experienced pharmacist to join our respiratory pharmacy team, covering maternity leave, as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist based at the Royal Brompton site.
The Adult Respiratory Medicine service at the Royal Brompton Hospital is a tertiary referral centre for adult patients with respiratory diseases and specialties include severe asthma, cystic fibrosis, infection and interstitial lung disease. Pharmacy is an integral member of the strong multidisciplinary teams that support these services.
Main duties of the job
You will be supported to advance your specialist respiratory knowledge and will be able to use your non-medical prescribing skills.
To provide a safe, efficient and high quality clinical pharmacy service to adult respiratory patients.
To work closely with the Specialist Pharmacist, Respiratory Medicine to develop the pharmacy service to respiratory patients, and support the development of protocols and guidelines, as well as assist in education and training.
To develop and maintain specialist knowledge in medicines used within respiratory medicine.
Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and committees.
To deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective use of medicines within respiratory medicine by the provision of education and training, procedures, protocols, and medicines usage information.
To see respiratory patients in virtual and face to face clinics.
To support the Homecare service for respiratory patients.
There are no dispensary duties in this role.
