B7 Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist - Neuro Oncology Outpatients
We have an exciting opportunity to join our large and dynamic Occupational Therapy cancer service within our outpatient team providing clinics at Guy's Cancer Centre. We are a forward thinking and innovative service with our staff at the centre of achieving the vision for 'Guy's Cancer'. We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist with excellent clinical and people management skills to join our team and support ongoing developments of the service.
Main duties of the job
This post predominantly works within the neuro Oncology Service which has been awarded the Tessa Jowell Centres of Excellence and recently the won the National Brain Tumour Charity's professional excellence award.
The role attends the weekly MDT clinic working closely with consultants, nursing staff and our AHP colleagues, running follow up clinics for your patients outside of this. Our OT outpatient services provide flexible and holistic specialist cancer rehabilitation and symptom management at all stages of a patient's pathways to ensure they are supported to live well. This includes targeted symptom management programmes around fatigue, sleep and cancer related cognitive impairment.
This post will allow you to develop and utilise your specialist clinical skills in the management of people with complex health and rehabilitation needs. Whilst providing you with an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills, expand your professional development and participate in the wider local and national agenda's for cancer care. We can offer support and training if your experience is focused in another neuro specialty but you would like to transition into an Oncology setting.
