A fantastic 12 month fixed term opportunity has arisen to join Evelina London Women's & Children's Healthcare as Deputy General Manager for the Children's Cardio-Respiratory & Intensive Care Directorate. You will be an individual with an excellent track-record in operational management, combined with the commitment and leadership skills to deliver our ambitious and exciting vision for children's surgical services for South London, South East England and beyond. You will be a part of the Directorate Management team - led by the Clinical Director, General Manager and Head of Nursing - and responsible for operational delivery of a range of services.Every year, the number of children and young people Evelina London cares for, in our hospitals and in the community, continues to grow. We provide comprehensive health services from pre-conception, before birth, throughout childhood and into adult life.
As the only NHS Trust in London with women's and specialist children's services on one site we have unique opportunities to provide excellent, high-quality care for mothers, babies and children. We operate through five clinical directorates: Children's Medicine and Neonatology; Children's Surgery, Theatres and Anaesthesia; Children's Cardio-respiratory and Intensive Care; Children's Community Services and Women's Services.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a kind, compassionate and motivated leader who can bring energy and focus to this exciting Deputy General Manager role in the Children's Cardio-Respiratory and Intensive Care Directorate. The post holder will have a strong background in operational management, either in an acute or community setting.
The Deputy General Manager will work closely with the General Manager, Clinical Director and Head of Nursing to support and oversee the delivery of clinical services across the directorate. This will include supporting Service Managers and Clinical Leads with day to day operational service delivery, managing risk, using data to inform decision making, and leading on a range of service improvements to improve the quality and accessibility of our services.
This post will provide an individual with the opportunity to broaden their understanding of Children's Cardio-Respiratory and Intensive Care Services.

Evelina London Children's Healthcare (ELCH) is the second largest provider of acute (hospital) children's services in London. We provide children's hospital services (secondary acute services) to the local area and an almost comprehensive portfolio of tertiary services (we take referrals from other healthcare organisations such as local or district hospitals) to south London and south east England. We also provide specialist and universal children's community services to the communities in Lambeth and Southwark.
