Job summary

The Guys and St. Thomas' Essentia Directorate are looking to appoint a newWorkforce Development & Academy Administrator to support the Essentia Academy.

The Essentia Academy has evolved significantly over the last two years and so we are looking for a person who can take the team to the next level.

This role manages the Essentia Academy, which includes an Academy Programme Manager, an Apprenticeship and Academy Development Officer and oversees on behalf of the wider Workforce Development Team an apprentice.

The Essentia Academy have been successful in promoting apprenticeships and as a Directorate we are performing well in respect of the number of apprenticeships starts being approximately 105 or over 6% of the workforce. You will need to demonstrate your commitment and knowledge of apprenticeships.

Main duties of the job

Workforce Development & Academy Administratoris critical in the delivery and coordination of high quality training and development to all of Essentia staff across a multiple sites across London.

Our key focus going forward is to develop career and talent pathways for all our staff with a particular focus on BAME and female staff at Bands 6 and 7.

To succeed in this role, you will be a strong learning and development Ambassador, with a deep understanding of training and organisational development methodologies, and with an in-depth experiences of working across the full learning and development cycle from Training Needs Analysis through to evaluation.

The successful candidate will enjoy personally delivering and facilitating training as well as coaching staff and colleagues. It is important that you are at the cutting-edge of your profession and be aware of the latest thinking and practice in learning and development.

Strong financial acumen is necessary is a the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring a number of critical funding streams, including the apprenticeship levy.

Return of Investment is paramount focus for this role and you will need to demonstrate how you will measure and and evaluate the impact of your team and their work.

Stakeholder engagement is important with this role and you will need to demonstrate how you manage your customer and supplier communications to ensure you understand the business needs and how you get wider reach of your team's services.

Widening participation and improving inclusion are two key areas which you will need to demonstrate knowledge of, and evidence of how you embed these in the work you have led in the past.

  • GCSE (Grade C) or equivalent in English and Mathematics, Experience of dealing with members of the public

Desirable

  • Experience of providing administration support to a busy department

  • Ability Keyboard skills and Microsoft packages. ( including Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • The desire to learn new skills
  • To be driven by targets, collate and present accurate information for team deadlines Ability to file records accurately. To be flexible in their approach to the work, according to priorities and changing organisational systems

Desirable

  • Previous clerical experience. Knowledge of Visio/ Microsoft Project Manager and web design
